Don't Follow the Butterfly

A fantasy adventure game with horror elements. Noticeably larger and longer than A Dragon and the Tower. Will have less graphics, but more gameplay. Will not be free (as beer), but will likely still be libre (aka free as speech).
Current status
- We have all parts of the game implemented to certain extent. The game is technically completable
- A rework of chapter 1 will be needed, since it has been implemented a very long time ago and does not fully match current vision
- Along with that we are going to work on filling other chapters -- we need enough hints, improving puzzles and a lot of flavour and lore
- During the first playtesting runs we have found a huge number of issues in need of fixing
Princess Asurja's Morning

A tiny experimental text game. I've made it a few years ago and players seem to mostly like it. I want to make a proper release of it.
Current status
- The game is functional.
- Cover art is nearly done, thanks Sabra Naikomy as always
- Needs translation, cover art and a custom theme. We are going to repack it with our new installers tooling, publish it to itch.io for people to enjoy.
- It's pretty unlikely that I make music for this game, but I may find something cool on the web, luckily there are quite some composers, publishing decent music under an open license.
Awakening/The First City Classic

A large text adventure game. It's set in a steampunk world and although it starts on Earth, in London, most of the game takes place under the water, on the bottom of the Earth's ocean.
Current status
Current version of the game is what it is. We plan a full-fledged remake, and will start working on it after we release Don't Follow the Butterfly and have a working alpha of Snail. With this version we are going to do the same we plan for Princess Asurja's Morning:
- Translate
- Polish some rough edges (plainstead support, some glaring UX issues)
- Make a proper theme and cover
- Replace the graphics with something of tolerable quality at least.
Snail

A 2D game engine designed with cross-platformability in mind. Our goal is to make the engine an easy way to port all our games to whatever platforms we see fit.
Current status
This project is extremely important, as we are going to implement Awakening remake on it. Currently we have it in a very basic prototype state, and by the time we start working on the game it has to be in Alpha at least.
Dreams of Space

A very old idea of mine, but only now I find myself capable of handling it (or not?). It is a musical piece, a dark ambient journey to the depths of space, a glimpse of something sinister lurking from beyond this world. With my lack of knowledge or practical experience it is extremely difficult for me to achieve the desired effect; Nevertheless, the work is going.
Current status
- Hard to estimate, since this is the first musical project I work on. It may even end up completely trashed or postponed
- No, we'll not make parts available until the whole piece is ready
Magic 8 Ball

A short post-apocalyptic story. Steve wakes up in his own cellar. Something bad has happened and he was very lucky to be there, since everything above ground is in ruins. Now he's on a quest to get back to civilization and maybe find out what has happened.

Stuck due to the lack of time. Unless I put more time into this, it will go nowhere.

With growing number of projects, we'll need a convenient searchable/filterable catalog to see them all. This is exceptionally important as we plan to sell copies of Don't Follow the Butterfly. Though selling will only happen through 3rd party stores at this stage, we feel obliged to provide our players with a DRM-free backup option.

Poll System

While we have a number of different social media accounts, obviously not everyone is present on any one of them. So in order to get a representative picture of your preferences, we need to implement an independent poll system, not requiring any external accounts.
We already have a basic system, but since it was neither used nor maintained, it's currently non-functional. The code quality is very dubious as well, since it was written as a proof of concept first of all. We'll not need a lot more than what we have. Maybe some kind of feed, that will show relevant active polls on our websites. We still want it to work in all browsers supporting html forms, with no javascript/complex css required. And, of course, we are going to open the code as soon as we redeploy the app.

While my previous attempt at having a forum was miserable -- no real users at all, very painful updates and a ton-load of spam; I would still like to have an independent place for public discussion. We may just pick something readily available for this, or implement our own. As usual -- our primary requirement is accessibility on all platforms.

Currently I'm going through the games in instead-games.ru repository. This is the main repository of games made with INSTEAD, the engine we use for our text adventures. There are quite a lot of good games there, however most of them have not been translated from Russian.
Current status
I have a bit under 100 games to play, not counting the "sandbox" (~100 more games, but quality can vary from a nearly finished game to unplayable mess).

- Titan Quest
- Didn't like this game too much at first, but playing a bit more got caught by it's rule system and mythology. So far (end of Act 3) seems to be a decent diabloid (seamless world and always going forward, actually feel closer to Dungeon Siege). A bit too much grind, especially after act 3
- Divinity: Original Sin
- Never played it through, so it's time
- Spells of Gold
- A Russian "indie" RPG (original title - Заклятие) from early 2000s, with heavy focus on trading. The game has a ton of mechanics and while not all of them work well, it's genuinely fun to play, even if quite grindy
- Neverwinter Nights
- Playing with a group of friends through various modules. Some are good, some are not so, but we're still having good time
